How can I claim to be a philosopher when nothing on my blog suggests so? Well here’s a quick 2AM rant since I already have trouble sleeping, might as well put my rambling thoughts down.
I believe in versatility. I believe in being interesting. Think about it, if you are going to live with yourself for the rest of your life, you should try to be the most well-rounded, versatile person. Example: Dos Equis’ The Most Interesting Man in the World. With this trying, I have dove in many things- especially music and art. I have listened to many genres of music and enjoyed them all! To me, EDM (electronic dance music) is very similar to classical music. It takes a DJ aka maestro/composer to create an unique masterpiece whether it be synthetic sounds or instrumental. The end result is still a work of art. The serene melody comes together in an exquisite honey river. Music is a huge part of my life and I take much joy and appreciation when I can discuss the different genres with people. In conclusion, I listen to EDM as much as I do classical music.
Introduction to my way of philosophy. How did I even get into this kind of complex, mind-baffling business? I started writing philosophical pieces on human relationships and social constructs since I was a youth. The massive amounts of idea-filled papers are somewhere in my room but those specific thoughts never left me. However, I realized some thing. My mind has changed immensely on many topics and it is due to my ever-accumulating experiences. You can laugh and say, “Well yes, no brainer there Einstein!” But really think about, how do you know exactly what you thought years ago about a particular issue or topic? Unless you are an avid journalist or blogger, I doubt your faulty memory can extract the precise thoughts you had years ago. I believe in feelings and emotions and how the issues made you feel. Although I have yet to fully grasp the concepts of human emotions (even with a psychology and neurobiology background), I am weary of their trickery on human beings. With that being said, how have my views changed overall? As we live longer, we encounter more disappointments and more happiness. However as unsatisfied humans, the disappointments stick with us far more than the happy events.
As my philosophy is ever-changing, I realize so are human beings. There are no definitive relationships, no definitive decisions, and no definitive actions. The notion that we are able to sustain a monogamous, mono-amorous relationship is simply fanciful. Is it possible to do? Yes of course but I would like to present a scientific view of this issue. As homo sapiens, we are related to animals and nature. If you take a close look at nature, monogamy is NOT the norm. Birds, fish, dogs, etc. you name it are most likely not one-partner for life creatures. So this is where all the sexist stereotyping comes in. I say, blame it on biology! For as true as it is, men and women are different (surprise right?). Yes advocating for equality (not feminism) is a wonderful thing but until we can address the biological differences between men and women, how can we fully move forward with social progress and change for everyone? Catch 22 right? How can we go about addressing the biological differences? I mean you’re talking at a molecular level- XX vs XY chromosome. I don’t have a definite answer or opinion to the matter of this. It is just interesting to state this.
Aforementioned, yes it is possible to maintain a “true relationship” within one’s lifetime. As homo sapiens, we possess the unique ability to transcend above and beyond other animals due to our enormous cerebral cortex. So the power of awareness comes with the power of choice…as long as two partners are AWARE and CHOOSE to agree on a set of terms then their chances of success increase. But but remember, we are ever-changing, ever-evolving human beings. Even with initial agreements, miscommunications and misgivings can provide convenient shortcomings for the end of your relations. Hey, you bark at me, “You’ve been flipping back and forth about this topic. What is the answer? What is your opinion?!” Silly, there is no definitive answer. Remember? My opinion? Is not yet fully formulated or solidified and to reiterate, it will probably change depending on the people who I meet and interact with and the experiences I trudge through.
This was just a warm-up brain teaser for me. More general info…My favorite philosophers (in no particular order): Fyodor Dostoevsky, Thomas Hobbes, Friederich Nietzsche, John Locke, Immanual Kant, Machiavelli, Carl Jung, Confucius, Lao Tzu, Jesus, & Buddha. Yes yes, laugh cause they’re all big names! But there is a reason why they are popular- they are on some level relatable to many people. Initially I was very much into Nihlism and Existentialism but have opened up more due to my research into positive affect and psychology, gratefulness, and mindfulness/awareness. Now I am researching in ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), meaning-centered/spiritual well-being, and positive affect. I really don’t believe that philosophy can exist without psychology. The two fields have been intertwined forever but now we can label them more clearly and draw the line on what is testable. Thanks for reading!

Any constructive criticism is appreciated! This an attempt at realism and manga-style blended.

UPDATE

Recently saw BAAU Down editors (Wang and John) :) and found out I am having two artwork entries published! How exciting!!! Wang was really helpful and John encouraged me to just draw/write everyday and he’s right. I am busy but the problem I was struggling with before was ignoring my favorite hobby and craft. I have two stories in mind and I need do some character development and background. I asked about creative and intellectual properties and rights but apparently in the art world, the risk of free publicity is being ripped off so…I just need to toughen up and just post post! Thanks BAAU :) I hope to contribute soon via web upkeep/design after I sharpen my HTML/Java knowledge

Help! Please answer :) Which would you be more interested in reading/watching? - Poll

Which would you be more interested in reading/watching?
 • Romantic Comedy like Crazy Stupid Love, Secret Garden, and Ouran HS
 • Romantic Tragedy like Romeo & Juliet, Great Gatsby, Clannad
Hi All, I am struggling with two ideas for a romance story but I can either make it a comedy or tragedy. Definitely am able to convey a wide range of emotions but I need a sign to know which way to go!~ Beautifully tragic or light-hearted humor :) I can draw personal inspiration from either genre. THANKS!!!

Update

Hello All! I am working on 2 stories at the moment. I love to research so I am thoroughly looking into character development, plot, etc. and especially legal matters in the creative arts (writing and art). I am so excited to announce that one will be a romance comedy and the other an action-adventure genre.

If anyone has good websites/resources about writer/artist development and/or legal matters, that’d greatly expedite the process! I have a few websites and vague ideas but by no means am I a rehearsed expert. On other news, BAAU Down is coming together as I can see so hopefully can confirm that my picture can be published in it. Thanks all and hang tight :)

"The Fault in Our Stars" movie trailer! How sweet does this seem? It’s been at least 5 years since I’ve worked in the oncology field…been at a cancer-screening clinic for 4 years and now doing psycho-oncology research. It’s been a true blessing realizing how precious life is and it’s who you spend it with.

More real life news— I am in full swing for school but have been really behind. Besides the weather being all “wintery” now for the first time in CA…I’ve been struggling with being sick and it’s been tough, not knowing exactly what it is and how to treat it. You would think that being in a post-bac program and giving it my all with a fresh start at a second chance to really shine— that life gives you a break. But it doesn’t. Human bodies fail, relationships falter, and tensions rise and all because I want to achieve my dreams. It is true what they say, short-term pain for long-term gain in which I hope for. There is a BAAU meet Saturday 2/8 but I have a health/medical conference to attend at Stanford. On top of that, FanimeCon Staff meeting is that same day as well. Odd how everything happens on 2/8, I guess no one wants to infringe upon President’s Day or Valentine’s Day haha -xoxo km

I am hoping to submit a few more singular art pieces so I can increase my chances and hopefully produce better pictures :) I am so excited. It’d mean the world if I could publish- a little ego boost for the aspiring artist in me. WHEE but of course all that will happen after I conquer school, mcat, and research work x_x hard. knock. life. So here’s a pictures of two bunnies kissing, DAWE :3

I know it’s been a while! I apologize. Just finished Finals and MCAT is looming over me. Well happy to post that this is my first completed picture in a while :D So please pardon the rigidity, I’ll practice drawing more smoothly. She’s so pretty and I adore her face. I was trying to go for elegant and lady-like and I think she portrays it well. Inspiration coming from 1950s Audrey Hepburn yay! Just a random character but all artistic rights reserved ><
